Conservatorships and Guardianships
The decision to seek a conservatorship or guardianship of a loved one is not easy, and our attorneys are experienced in handling the legal and emotional issues that arise during these proceedings. We represent our clients in all aspects of contested and non-contested conservatorship and guardianship proceedings. We understand that emergencies arise making a conservatorship immediately necessary. From the initiation of proceedings —both temporary and general— through termination, we have the experience and bandwidth to prepare the necessary paperwork correctly with very little turnaround time.
Our clients include individuals and licensed professional and corporate fiduciaries, and we can call on a vast network of professionals when the need arises. Our attorneys have extensive experience representing conservators during conservatorship and guardianship proceedings, and an intimate knowledge of conservatorship rules and requirements. Our paralegals are skilled in the preparation of inventories and appraisals, court accountings, and other required pleadings to assist the conservator or guardian client when necessary.
Several of our attorneys serve on the San Mateo County and Santa Clara County court appointed attorney panels to represent conservatees and wards in conservatorship and guardianship proceedings. Our attorneys are proud to serve as consultants to the San Mateo County Legal Aid Society CareGivers Legal Assistance Network and represent pro bono clients, including non-English speakers, in conservatorship and guardianship proceedings.
