Biography
Ms. Barnett Batista is an associate attorney and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. Ms. Barnett Batista focuses her practice on trust, probate and conservatorship litigation, representing both individuals and professional fiduciaries in a wide range of litigated matters including financial elder abuse actions, removal and surcharge actions, contested conservatorships, will and trust contests, accounting disputes, and related civil claims.
Ms. Barnett Batista also provides estate planning services to meet her clients’ wealth transfer and tax goals, including the preparation of revocable living trusts, wills, financial powers of attorney, and advance health care directives, and advises clients on all aspects of trust, probate and conservatorship administrations.
Ms. Barnett Batista currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Women Lawyers Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers. Ms. Barnett Batista also serves on the Board of Governors of California Women Lawyers.
Ms. Barnett Batista joined Aaron, Riechert, Carpol & Riffle, APC in 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Barnett Batista earned her J.D. at Brooklyn Law School where she graduated Cum Laude. During law school, Ms. Barnett Batista served as Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law and earned CALI awards in Evidence and International Law. Ms. Barnett Batista earned a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated Cum Laude.
