Biography
Meera N. Balat has been practicing in the area of Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law since 2018. She joined Aaron, Riechert, Carpol & Riffle in May 2017. The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization has certified Ms. Balat as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law.
Ms. Balat is a native of the Bay Area. After earning her Bachelors of Science in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2014, she returned home for law school where she graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While in law school, she served as a staff member for the University of San Francisco Law Review, Case Counsel for the Moot Court Program, and tutored students in Contracts, Evidence, and Civil Procedure.
Ms. Balat is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the complex areas of probate law with both professionalism and compassion. Whether preparing an estate plan, guiding families through the administration of a trust, or advising families on incapacity issues with a loved one, Ms. Balat supports clients at every stage with a confident and approachable style. She believes that the best legal representation begins with education, taking the time to explain each step of the process in clear, straightforward language so clients feel supported along with the way.
Ms. Balat is also committed to giving back to her community and fostering the next generation of professionals. She currently serves as the Chair Pro Tem of the Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association and is on the Board of Directors of the Women Lawyers Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association. Ms. Balat also serves as Independent Counsel in San Mateo County and Santa Clara County in conservatorship matters, and has served as a Guardian ad Litem in trust matters.
