Linda J. Dvorak has been working in the field of estate planning and estate and trust administration for more than thirty-five years. She began as a legal secretary, became a paralegal, and has now been an attorney for more than twenty years. She graduated from the School of Business & Technology at Oregon State University with a minor in Industrial Chemistry. She worked as an administrative and technical assistant for a research and development corporation in Oakland for five years before entering the legal profession.
Working as a paralegal by day, Ms. Dvorak earned her law degree in 1982 by attending evening classes at Santa Clara University School of Law. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning the Erma E. Southern award for the highest grade point average in her class. Once graduated, she remained with the same employer, as an attorney, for an additional five years. Subsequently, Ms. Dvorak joined the law firm of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn, Bentley, Wagner and Kane in 1987, where she remained for fourteen years. In 1991, she was designated as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. She later joined the law firm of Aaron, Riechert, Carpol & Riffle in 2001, after Ropers, Majeski closed its estate planning department.
Ms. Dvorak is a member of the Peninsula Estate Planning Council, the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section of the California State Bar Association, and the San Mateo County Bar Association Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law Section, of which she served as a co-chair for three years.
Ms. Dvorak works with a broad spectrum of estate planning clients, ranging from those with relatively small estates to those with multi-million dollar estates. She assists them in achieving an appropriate balance between tax savings, flexibility for the surviving spouse, and maintaining harmony between family members.
In a caring and sensitive manner, Ms. Dvorak guides surviving spouses, children or other family members, in the administration of their loved one’s estate, as well as working with private professional fiduciaries or corporate trustees in estate and trust administrations.
When she’s not working, Ms. Dvorak enjoys spending time with her two sons, Michael and David, and is an aspiring gardener and photographer. She is an occasional hiker, and volunteers in assisting the elderly with financial and tax matters, as well as home improvement projects.
