Kathleen A. Durrans is a shareholder of Aaron, Riechert, Carpol & Riffle, APC, and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law.  Ms. Durrans is also a certified mediator, focusing on various types of probate mediation and is a member of the San Mateo Probate ADR Program Panel.  Ms. Durrans has been practicing in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law since 1999.  She is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude.  She was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and University of San Francisco Law Review.  In 1998, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Family Wealth Transfer Taxation.

Ms. Durrans grew up in San Francisco, where she attended Convent of the Sacred Heart High School.  She then moved across the country, and earned a B.A. in English Literature from Boston University in 1993.  She returned to the Bay Area to attend law school, and currently resides in Belmont with her family.

Ms. Durrans is admitted to practice law in the State of California, and the Northern District of California.  She is a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association, and serves as Chair of the Women Lawyers Section.  She is a co-author of "When Death and Divorce Collide" published in the Spring of 2005 California Trusts and Estates Quarterly.

Ms. Durrans currently volunteers with the San Mateo County Legal Aid Society, a non-profit organization offering individual representation to those in need.  She represents family members in conservatorship and guardianship proceedings, and serves as a consultant to the San Mateo County Legal Aid Society Care Givers Legal Assistance Network.
